All of the flat pieces of this pulpit, from the top and sides of the bible rest, to the main table top surface, table skirt and moulding around the leg bases were put together using the same reverse glue joints that show so well in this rear view of the bible rest sides. This type of joinery makes sure that this pulpit, and any other piece of church furniture I make will last for generations.
